We often hear about God's will for us, and how we should be living our lives according to this will. I don't know about you, but it isn't always easy to understand what this might look like for us. So how can one find out about this will? Well, the first thing we know is this, it is only God that can actually show our will to us. We know that the more we hangout with Him, the more likely it is for us to make sense of it. We know that the more we seek and get to know Him, the easier it will be to understand His will for us and be transformed by it. Finally, we know that we have a part that we must play, in order to realise or operationalise this will in our lives.
Romans 12v1-2 gives us a hint of how we can go about discovering our will.
Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship. And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].
